Overview: The class will be a short introduction to design and construction of side hung drawers. The course will be a lecture demonstration covering the advantages of side mounted drawers, how to approach their construction and pitfalls to avoid. There will be no hands on for the participants, but there will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
Mike will present the approach covered in the Skill’s Spotlight from Fine Woodworking #277 - Sept/Oct 2019. A copy of the article will be provided to those attending. Some advantages of this approach are:
· Design Aspect - No material above or below the drawer
· Smooth operation
· The rail is also the drawer stop.
The class will cover the dado used for the drawers as well as building and positioning the runners.
